What broke
The first journal format capped every field at 400 characters and made the cap fatal, so a session with more to say had to condense until it fit. The cap cost real operational knowledge.
The rule it paid for
A field limit that exists for a screen must never reach the artefact. Format 2; display truncation only, marked, beside the path to the full text.
